Where Can I Get an Apostille?

It’s that time of the year again where we would like to remind our clients and the general public to beware of sites who are charging ridiculously low service fees for California Apostille service.  We’ve seen Apostille fees advertised online form $29 to $69 each. We recommend that you only work with a company which has registered with the California Secretary of State as an authorized service provider for Apostille, Authentication, Certifications and Notary service.

A company out in San Francisco is advertising Apostille service for only $29.  Keep in mind that the State charges $26 for authenticating each and every document.   We really don’t understand how a company charging only $29 can be legitimate and stay in business especially if there is no California Secretary of State office in San Francisco.  As the saying goes, LET THE BUYER BEWARE.

We recently had a walk-in client at our office in Los Angeles (Burbank, CA) who had used a competitor located in Orange County, CA (Costa Mesa).  This competitor lured him in with a $69 Apostille service fee but in reality was charged close to $100 and waiting almost a week to receive his document.  Unfortunately for him, his documents were rejected by the requesting country because of a simple error that could have been avoided if he had used a professional service.

We quickly took initiative and notarized his document correctly and obtained the California Apostille the same-day.  A professional Apostille service company would have been able to catch the problems quickly rather than hope for the best or point fingers when something goes wrong. You can learn more about us here: http://www.apostille.la/about-us/ . Please Note: We’re a registered Private Service Provider with the California Secretary of State under Notary: Authentications (Apostilles and Certifications).

A recent testimonial we’d like to share:

“I cannot possibly write an stronger recommendation for International Apostille Services, Inc.  The service level and response by Richard Johnston are unheard of these days.  They always answer the phone, are professional and timely.  However in my particular case the US State Department made a mistake and I did not know it until my document was rejected by the foreign Consulate.  I called Richard and explained the situation.  Rather than dodging the problem HE TOOK OWNERSHIP and within 48 hours I had the correct document in hand.  Unheard of.  You can’t possibly find a better group to handle your Apostille or Legalizations.”  Chris T. WPB, FL.

Our flat-rate price includes all State fees, shipping fees, drop-off and pick-up fees, parking fees, etc… To view our California Apostille rates, visit this link: http://www.apostille.la/rates/ .  For example, an Apostille service provider is claiming to only be charging $69 for each California Apostille.  But if you look closely and read the fine print, the real cost is close to $100 and the processing time can take up to a week.  We don’t lure people in with low prices only to bait-and-switch them into paying more fees. That’s unprofessional and bad for business.

Apostilles can be complicated. Don’t leave this process to untrained employees or non-professionals who do not fully understand the Apostille process and the unique requirements of certain countries. Your paperwork could be rejected costing you time and money. Don’t let this happen to you!
