It’s important to work with a California notary who has years of experience notarizing documents in order to avoid any delays. A document which requires notarization must include either a California Acknowledgement wording or a California Jurat wording.

If you need a copy of your document notarized, we’ll need to send you a document called a, “California Copy Certification by Document Custodian.” This document is necessary for the notary to fill-in and attach to the top of the copy of the original document. Common documents which require a California Copy Certification are: Copy of Driver License, Copy of Passport, Copy of Diploma, Copy of School Transcripts.
Common California notary mistakes we see are:
1. Forgetting to stamp the Acknowledgment or Jurat with the notary seal.
2. Forgetting to sign the document in order for the notaries signature to be verified.
3. Not including “Notary Public” after the notary’s name on the acknowledgment.
4. Not attaching the correct acknowledgment or Jurat Wording.
5. Notarizing a document which the signer hasn’t signed.
You can also scan and email the notarized documents for verification before you mail the documents to our office. On average, 50%-60% of notarized documents we receive have incorrect notarizations.
