Apostille a U.S. Passport

Do you need an Apostille on a U.S. Passport?

We provide fast Apostille services for a U.S. Passport issued by the United States Federal Government.  We can also Apostille Passports issued by other Foreign Governments.  In order to authenticate your Passport, you will need to mail-in to our office your original U.S. Passport and not a copy.

If you are reluctant to mail-in your U.S. Passport to our office, you can meet with a local notary in California who will copy certify a color copy of your Passport.  Depending on the country, you may need to color copy each page of your Passport or just the page with your picture and signature.  In most cases, it’s just the picture & signature.  Be sure to double-check with the requesting country in order to avoid any delays and additional costs.

It’s important to work with a professional notary with years of experience and one who will follow the notarial rules and guidelines in the State of California.  For example, in the State of California, a California Copy Certification by Document Custodian form will be used by the Notary.  In other States, they will have similar forms.  A Jurat statement can also be used.  Basically, a jurat is a sworn statement that the copy is a copy of the original.

We have two offices in the United States to serve you.  You can either mail your U.S. Passport to our Washington, D.C. office for authentication through the Secretary of the District of Columbia or our Los Angeles, CA address for authentication through the California Secretary of State.

We recommend that you mail your original Passport to our Washington, DC office.  We have a notary in D.C. to assist in the process at no additional charge. Washington, D.C. Apostille

If the country requesting your Passport is not a member of the Hague Apostille Convention, then your documents may require further authentication through the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C. and legalization through the Embassy / Consulate office. Our Staff in D.C. can handle your Department of State and legalization requests quickly.

Apostilles can be complicated. Don’t leave this process to untrained employees or non-professionals who do not fully understand the Apostille process and the unique requirements of certain countries. Your paperwork could be rejected costing you time and money. Don’t let this happen to you!
