Do you need an apostille on a Power of Attorney notarized in California? If you plan to authorize another person in another country to conduct business on your behalf (Example: Sell a property, buy a property), you will need to sign, notarize, and apostille a power of attorney. A power of attorney is also commonly referred to as a P.O.A.
At International Apostille Services, Inc., we take the guesswork out of getting a California apostille on your documents. We have an office in San Francisco and Los Angeles/Burbank.
Obtaining an apostille on a power of attorney can be as easy as visiting the local notary public and mailing in your documents to our office for processing.
Before you mail in your documents to our office, we will ask you the following questions when you call so we can email you the instructions, cost, and order forms.
Here are the questions we will ask you when you call…
- The U.S. State where your power of attorney will be notarized in?
- What language your power of attorney is in?
- What Country is requesting your document?
Please note that we cannot advise you on how to create a power of attorney because we are not international attorneys. We recommend that you hire an attorney in the other country to help prepare a power of attorney. We recommend that your power of attorney be written in English and in the other language (Example: English and Spanish). The benefit of hiring a lawyer in the other country is to prevent any errors.
Is your power of attorney written in another language other than English? Please call our office 1-888-810-4054 so we can discuss your document. In certain situations, you may need to provide a notarized translation into English. Also, in some U.S. States, a notarized document requires County Clerk authentication which can increase the cost and processing time.
Obtaining an apostille can be complicated. Don’t leave this process to untrained employees or non-professionals who do not fully understand the Apostille process and the unique requirements of certain countries. Your paperwork could be rejected costing you time and money. Don’t let this happen to you!
