Do you need to California apostille on your Diploma?

The very first step is to contact your school’s Registrar for assistance. You will need to explain to the Registrar that you need to authenticate your diploma so the other country will accept it. If the school does not have a notary on staff, you can request a traveling notary to meet with the school’s registrar. The school’s Registrar will either notarize the original diploma or a color copy. Please note that the process is the same for a transcript apostille.
Every school will have their own procedure on how the notarization step will be completed. Some school’s will request that you mail in your original diploma so they can notarize it while another school will notarize a color copy. Please contact your school for know more about their procedure, cost, and turn-around time. If you are having difficulty and the school’s Registrar is not understanding your request, you can ask the school’s registrar to call our office.
Once we receive your diploma, we’ll process it from the State the diploma has been notarized in. Please note that notarized documents from the State’s of New York, Maryland, Hawaii, Kentucky, and Tennessee require County Clerk authentication before the State will attach the apostille.
If you are requesting your diploma for a country who is not a member of the Hague Apostille Convention, your diploma will require two to three steps to complete.
